Comic Grading Service Offers
New to comic grading? No problem! We'll guide you through the fascinating process that reveals the true value of your comics. CGC and CBCS are leading names in the grading field and enjoy worldwide recognition. They rate your comic on a scale of 0.5 (shows clear signs of use) to 10.0 (perfect condition), giving you a precise insight into the condition and therefore the value of your comic. This rating is a crucial factor when it comes to selling or maintaining the value of your comic. In addition, professional encapsulation protects your comic from further damage, secures its condition and makes it a valuable investment for the future.
Advantages of Comic Grading
Why should you have your comics graded? Grading not only increases the value of your comics, but also protects them from environmental influences, preserves their condition, and makes them more attractive for sale or exchange. It is an investment in your collection that will pay off in the long run by confirming the authenticity and quality of your comics.

Before Grading vs. After Grading
Before grading, the condition of a comic is often only subjectively assessed by the owner, leaving room for interpretation. Without a professional evaluation, it can be difficult to determine the true value and condition of the comic, especially when it comes to fine details such as corners, edges, surface quality and color brilliance.
After grading, however, each comic is given an objective, numerical rating on a scale of 0.5 to 10.0, given by neutral experts at grading companies such as CGC or CBCS. This rating is based on a thorough examination of all aspects of the comic, including the cover, pages, binding, and other elements that affect overall condition. A high rating (closer to 10.0) signals excellent condition, while lower ratings indicate various degrees of wear.
Encapsulation, which occurs after the evaluation, serves as a protective measure to preserve the determined condition and protect the comic from future damage. This protected packaging also allows the comic to be safely stored or displayed without compromising its condition.
Grading not only determines and documents the condition of a comic, but also creates added value by verifying and ensuring authenticity and quality for current and future collectors.

We send your comic to CGC, where it will be given a new cover on site. The comic will not be re-graded. If a graded comic has damage to the cover, this reduces the value of the comic. By giving your comic a new cover, you automatically increase its value.
Cleaning & Pressing
What is a comic book cleaning?
Mishandling and exposure to the elements can cause comics to suffer from creases, folds, tears, missing pieces, stains, and browning. Unwanted repairs - such as paint stains, glue, and tape - can also lower a comic book's rating. A comic book cleaner specializes in correcting or removing these defects and repairs to improve a comic's appearance and condition.

CGC (Certified Guaranty Company) and CBCS (Comic Book Certification Service) are both heavyweights in the comic book grading industry. While CGC, as an older, established company, is often considered the gold standard, CBCS scores with its transparent grading practices and the special ability to verify signatures after the fact. Both offer high quality standards, although their exact grading procedures may differ slightly. For collectors, the choice between CGC and CBCS is often a matter of personal preference and specific requirements, as both companies emphasize their own strengths.

What is our service?
Your comics will be cleaned and pressed by experts. This process improves the condition of the comic and brings out the maximum potential of your comic! We take care of the cleaning and pressing. Having treated thousands of issues, we have built up extensive expertise and know exactly how to treat a comic.
Duration of cleaning & pressing: 2 weeks
- A light cleaning, also known as a "dry clean", is done to clean the surface of the comic and remove dust and other residue.
- Dents are removed to eliminate unevenness in the comic.
- A heat pressing is performed to remove any "pressable" defects such as creases or folds and return the comic to its original condition.
- A cold pressing is done to prevent the comic from returning to a previous wrinkled state.
- Disclaimer: We cannot guarantee that no new defects will appear during cleaning. This is especially true for older magazines.
Additional service:
- HOP treatment: Here, dirt is removed from the cover of the comic using the HOP process. This includes a comprehensive treatment with special solvents and pressing techniques.
- Premium cleaning (HOP+UV treatment): Here, dirt is removed from the cover of the comic using the HOP process. This includes comprehensive treatment with special solvents and pressing techniques. The comic is also treated with UV. Yellowed pages are treated with a special lamp so that the original white color appears again. (Regular cleaning is included in the premium cleaning)
This is what cleaning & pressing can do:
- Removal of bends, wrinkles and other imperfections
- The value of the comic is increased
- Not all damage can be repaired (e.g. paint breaks)
Frequently asked questions about the Comic Grading Service offers
The most important questions about grading at a glance.
To ensure your comics arrive at the grading company in the best condition, you should carefully wrap them in acid-free paper and place them in a sturdy box that is not much larger than the comics themselves to avoid shifting. Use additional padding such as bubble wrap to cushion any shock during transit.
If you disagree with the grade, most grading companies offer a review process. You can submit your comic for re-grading, highlighting any specific concerns or questions you would like addressed during the initial grade.
In general, most comics can be graded. However, comics that are in very poor condition, have missing pages or covers, or have excessive repairs may be disqualified or receive lower grades. If you are unsure, it is best to communicate directly with the grading company.
Yes, there are cards that are not accepted for grading.
Here are some examples:
- Square Cut Cards: Cards without verifiable origin, such as those from Wizards of the Coast, are excluded due to non-standard cuts.
- Specific collections: Such as "All STAR" basketball cards from 1984-1986, due to authenticity concerns or lack of demand.
- Autograph cards: Cards without verified authenticity of the signature, e.g. without the original UDA certificate.
- Cards with defects: Such as "Missing Foil" or damaged cards that do not meet quality standards.
A detailed list of specific cards not graded by CGC can be found here .
