Comics from 1970-1985

The era ended with the retirement of many notable writers of the time. They were replaced by a new, younger generation. Just like in the Silver Age, the mainstay of the industry was the traditional superhero titles. However, darker plot elements and socially relevant topics such as racism were more strongly addressed in the Bronze Age. For example, in the April 1970 issue, Green Lantern was described as someone faced with poverty and self-doubt.
